   1. Discussion Regarding Offer for 310 Phillips – A counter offer of 268, 000 was made by the seller. The county tax evaluation is $208,160.  A donation of 15,000 was made for the purchase of the home. Discussed making an offer of 240,000. A motion was made by John Feltz to reserve countering the sellers counter offer until the July 6, 2010 PPC meeting. Bob Furlong seconded. A second motion was made by John Feltz for Jo Dunphy to communicate to the Seller’s realtor that the PPC has only approved 225,000. Jo Dunphy will communicate to seller’s realtor that we are investigating building on to the POB. The offer will be resubmitted at 225,000. A response is expected in 72 hours.

   1. Report from Fact Finding/Futures Committee:  Father Tony and John Feltz – Three options were discussed  1) do nothing,  2) build behind the rectory, 3) buy the house next door and make the rectory into PSR space.  John Feltz gave an overview of the expenses that would be incurred if the home was purchased with money from the savings account. Needs were discussed. The need for 8 classrooms is necessary. The need for Father to have a private office for counseling. The need for the kitchen in the undercroft to be updated. The council recognized the need for extra space.  Jo Dunphy recused herself from the vote for the house. A motion was made to offer $225,000 for the house at 310 Phillips St. The motion was seconded by Bob Furlong.

   1. House/Property Purchase: The issue of buying the house next door to St. Paul was discussed for the next two hours. The house was toured.  A motion was made by John Feltz. The council will endorse a program of infrastructure and improvements for the parish that would be less than $300,000 dollars to be funded by parishioners, gifts and parish resources. The motion was seconded by Jo Dunphy. A meeting was set for June 3rd  at 6:00 with the Fact Finding/Futures Committee.

   1. June 7, 2010 Annual Appreciation Dinner for Teachers & Carole Grady.  Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM. August 1, 2010 Carole’s Retirement Congratulatory Reception 12:00 PM.

   1. Missal Preparations:  New booklets and handouts from Father Tony
   2. Cemetery Expansion:  Need to establish parish needs for expansion of cemetery.  Land would need to be partially costed to a trust fund (money set aside).The cemetery is separate from the Parish operation.

   1. Building & Grounds –No Report. We are very grateful for the painting in the undercroft by Jerome Borchers. He is almost finished and it looks great!
   2. Cemetery – Ken Struewing- Not present.  No report.
   3. Education – Beth Paciorek – Not present, written report handed in:  The commission met on April 27, 2010. The junior high students retreat was held at Transfiguration Retreat Center. Nine students attended. They had a great time. Lenten activities were very well attended. PSR closing assembly will be May 9th. Teacher appreciation dinner will be June 7th. VBS June 14-18 at Mills Lawn School.
   4. Finance – John Feltz – Current totals available through June 30, 2010. Analysis will be done quarterly after the Finance Commission Meeting. There was a thorough review of Budget Estimates.
   5. Worship – Joyce Robinson- The commission will meet in May.
   6. Youth Ministry – Robbie Marion – Not present.  No report.
8. Matters for the Good of the Parish: Nursery and Closed circuit TV would be a nice addition to the undercroft.

1. Introduction of Guests: Cindy Feltz and Carl Maneiri – He is on the levy committee representing the YS School Board, and was here to address the council concerning the upcoming levy in May.

   1. Servers –  Father Tony – Female volunteers for servers are needed and welcome. If you noticed more men on the altar than usual on Holy Saturday, it was a matter of coincidence, not planned.  But we are all happy that they volunteered and showed up. Children volunteers for serving are always welcomed, boys and girls. Training will begin after Mass on Sat., April 24 and Sunday April 25 2010 (in church).
   2. Carole Grady’s retirement- July 31, 2010 – Monday, June 7th a reception for PPC and teachers will begin at 6:00 PM.  After Mass on Sunday, August 1st a reception for all parishioners will follow. If it is determined that the position needs to become full time an interview process will be initiated.

   4. Finance – John Feltz – An 8% increase was realized from 2009 – 2010 for the first quarter. The increase for 2009 is $13, 604. We are meeting our goal of $1,000 increase per week.
   5. Worship – Joyce Robinson – Joyce Robinson will remain as chair. Meetings will be the third Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held every other month on odd months.
   6. Youth Ministry – Robbie Marion – Not present (on his Senior Trip in New Orleans)
7. Matters for the Good of the Parish – It was discussed merging twice a year the 5:00 and 11:00 Masses and include St. Charles.  This may include a social hour after Mass.

   1. Jerome Borchers called (03-01-10) to say he will complete Undercroft painting this week.
   2. Retreat is rescheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2010. All parishioners invited to attend. Notify Gail to reserve a space.
   3. Catholic Ministries Appeal has begun.
6. New Business
   1. Purpose Driven Men’s Group – Purpose Driven Young’s Adult Group – Purpose Driven Basics Group – After a discussion the Purpose Driven title is dropped from the groups. May be starting by Pentecost. A coordinator is needed. The objective is to get men involved in the parish. A meeting for the Basics Group (format: meal, social time and directed discussion) has been set for April 12, 2010. Young Adults Group: Projected, one meeting/gathering after Mass.

   3. Education – Beth Paciorek – The 7th and 8th grade retreat will possibly be rescheduled for April 17th. Please see the bulletin for all of the Lenten events that are going on. There is a Springfield Deanery newsletter. The commission will send in good parish news. For example, student successes, retreat information, etc.
   4. Finance – John Feltz – The financial outlook for 2010 is better that 2009. The budget for 2011 will be one third less this year. Each staff member will be asked to decrease their budget by one third. This will be evaluated on an individual basis. The Stewardship Cabinet will meet in May.
   5. Worship – Joyce Robinson – It was proposed to change Christmas Eve Mass from 12 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. John Feltz motioned to accept and Beth Paciorek seconded. Joyce has resigned as commission chair. She will stay on as commission chair for the present. Discussed the coming of the new Missal in Lent of 2011. More formal language, tying in closer with Latin and Roman Missal.
   6. Youth Ministry – Robbie Marion was not present.
8. Matters for the Good of the Parish: Heifer International Foundation sale is March 13 & 14. The sale will be after each Mass. First Reconciliation for children and the whole parish will be Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. Parishioners may leave at any time after confession.

Nine children are preparing for the sacraments. Please refer to the Lenten schedule. Josh Danis is planning a retreat for Feb. 27th 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The theme will be “Lenten Desert Feast.”
   4. Finance – John Feltz – 74 families responded to make a pledge for an increase in stewardship. 157 out of 331 families are regular envelope users.  200 envelopes were handed out. The increase is 604.75 per week.  This is a $7.29 increase per family.
   5. Worship – Joyce Robinson – Not present- will meet Feb 3.
   6. Youth Ministry – Rob Marion – Not present
   7. PLOC – Parish Life and Outreach Commission:  Dan Retherford -Not present
8. Matters for the Good of the Parish:  A discussion was raised regarding the completion of the undercroft. The book shelves, Sacristy and the Vestry walls need to be repaired and painted.
